Hi my name is Colton I’ve been a licensed massage therapist since 2015. Sports have always held a special place in my heart. From an early age I was drawn to the thrill of competition and pushing myself to new limits. As I grew older my passion for sports evolved not only as a participant but as a healer. Experiencing different injuries sparked my curiosity to explore ways to support healing and recovery. It was during this time that I discovered the incredible benefits of massage therapy. One particular type of massage therapy that has gained popularity in recent years is myoskeletal alignment therapy. In this blog post, we will delve into the world of myoskeletal massage therapy and explore its benefits.

What is Myoskeletal Massage Therapy?

Myoskeletal therapy is a specialized form of massage that focuses on the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Developed by therapist Erik Dalton, this therapy combines elements of deep tissue massage, myofascial release, joint mobilization, and muscle energy techniques. The primary goal of myoskeletal therapy is to provide long- lasting pain relief and improve overall body alignment.

During a myoskeletal massage session, the therapist follows a systematic approach. They start by assessing the client's posture, range of motion, and overall musculoskeletal alignment. Once the problem areas are identified, the therapist uses a combination of targeted techniques to address the underlying causes of pain and
dysfunction. This may include working on muscle imbalances, releasing tight fascia, and improving joint mobility.
