What is REflexology?

 Reflexology is the study, science, and art of applying pressure to areas of the feet (and/or hands) to trigger a response in the rest of the body. It has been used for thousands of years across multiple cultures. Like traditional bodywork, reflexology provides relaxation. Sometimes a deeper, more fulfilling kind of relaxation. The theory behind reflexology is that our feet and our hands mirror the rest of our body. An area of tension in the foot has a direct correlation to a specific part in the body. There is a multitude of nerve endings, bones, and muscles in the feet that, like the rest of the body, can be compressed, misaligned, or tight.

Here are 5 ways Reflexology can benefit YOU!

1. Deep Relaxation
2. Increased Circulation
  • Poor circulation not only affects blood flow but also lymph fluid. Often, poor circulation is characterized by cold extremities, starting with the hands and feet. Build up of calcium and uric acid presents itself as small grit-like clusters in the foot.
3. Aids Digestion
  • The feet mirror the rest of the body – muscles, joints, organs. Therefore, working the digestive tract reflexes in the feet can help relieve constipation, IBS/Crohn's/post-colon cancer symptoms.
4. Post-Surgery/Injury
  • More often than not, the area is not supposed to be disturbed post-surgery. Or if massage is medically cleared, it's painful and the body is protective of the area. Reflexology allows access to those sensitive locations without triggering disruption to the healing process.
5. Trauma/Emotional Release
  • Trauma, emotional and physical, sends the body into protective mode. Regardless of if it happened yesterday or decades prior. Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive touch. Sometimes, traditional bodywork is overwhelming to the senses and can send the body into a fight or flight response. Reflexology can give a small comfort in that the client can remain fully clothed and open communication is welcome and encouraged.

  • +15 Min. Reflexology Enhancement
  • 30 Min Reflexology Treatment
  • 60 Minute Reflexology Session
    • 1 hour: Reflexology sessions should ideally be a full hour. Like a traditional bodywork session, in order to work/assess everything an hour gives enough time for a thorough assessment and focus to problem areas.
  • Reflexology Combo Journey (90 min./2 hr. options)
    • 1 ½ hour: consists of an hour on the feet and 30 minutes as a follow-up/confirmation. The 30 minutes would be used to either focus on an area of concern as shown in the feet or an area chosen by the client.
    • 2 hour: consists of one hour reflexology and one hour full body massage, typically in that order.

7 Ways You can help ukraine

Sometimes, we find ourselves trying to process all of the information of today's world. Often times, when things strike our hearts, we're left with anxiety and helplessness. The conflict in Ukraine is devastating and so complicated, it is natural to feel overwhelmed. A bright light is that you can channel that chaotic energy into HELPING the effort to support peace and aid for the people of Ukraine. Millions of people are fleeing and displaced, they need our support. With so much out of our control, let us turn to that which is in our control and support our fellow beings in need. Below are 7 ways to support Ukraine!
  1. Profits from classes this Friday and Saturday will be donated to Ukraine assistance efforts. This includes all in-person and virtual students! Check out Deep Healing Yin at 10am, Uplifting Yoga at 12pm on Friday and/or Shanti Yoga at 10:30am. Eastern Standard Time. Sign up for Saturday's class HERE
  2. Donate, even if it's $5, to United Nations World Food Programme. They have deployed emergency assistance to Ukraine and surrounding countries to help refugees. DONATE HERE

Attracting Luck

         Some say that luck is when good things continuously happen to someone "by chance." This idea leads us to believe that luck may be out of our grasp. However, the law of attraction dictates that like energy attracts like energy. So how do we invite luck into our lives? Homeostasis in our environment occurs with the healthy interaction of two or more entities. So, luck isn't random, we have to manifest and ATTRACT it!

Ways to attract luck:
1. Practice GRATITUDE!
2. Adjust the scope through which you are viewing the world.
3. Navigate with compassion
4. Visualize your dreams and goals coming true
5. See yourself as the highest version of yourself.
6. Begin your day expecting everything to go RIGHT!
