What is Grow Meditation?
Grow Wellness meditation classes are based on a variety of techniques. Though many of our sessions take inspiration from traditional Buddhist practices, we encourage people of any and all faiths to participate. Each session is an hour long and incorporates elements of aromatherapy, sound therapy, light stretching and discussion.
The most common thing that we hear is, "I'm not good at meditation." But that's simply not true! No one is perfect, and meditation is a practice. One that is ongoing and requires training. University of Wisconsin neuroscience lab director Richard J. Davidson, Ph.D., is quoted as saying, "In Buddhist tradition, the word ‘meditation’ is equivalent to a word like ‘sports’ in the U.S. It’s a family of activities, not a single thing." And as we've seen with traditional teaching methods, there is no "one size fits all" strategy that works for everyone. Every person has a different learning style, and here at Grow Wellness, we strive to work with each of our clients to see how we can best serve their spiritual needs.
Each week's class focuses on a different theme, but is always focused around the concept of love and light. Whether it be love for yourself or for the world around you, by helping you to practice mindfulness and acceptance, we hope to improve every aspect of your life.
