What is Self-LoveSelf-love is one of the most beautiful things about life. It is a practice that allows you to dip into a bottomless well of warm nurturing love to guide you on your journey. Self-love begins with recognizing that you are responsible for your own well being, and that your self worth has been within YOU all along. Begin to take the steps to fall in love with yourself, to create relationships with your aches and pains, and to see the best in yourself the same way you would with a loved one. Begin with mindfulness of your self-talk and self-criticism, try exercising support and encouragement towards yourself! Allow yourself to love your past, present and future, giving the child in you some care and pursue making peace with anything standing in your way of self-love. Self-love is about putting your wellness and happiness first instead of sacrificing them for outside validation or false priorities. Make room for healthy habits, practice self-care and set healthy boundaries for yourself. Pursue the things your mind, body and soul need, rather than need! The chances that you exist and are YOU are literally impossible. You, my dear, are a miracle and temple that is worthy of self-love! Fall in love with yourself and all that you have been through, fall in love with yourself and let love guide your path of joy and happiness. How to practice:How can we explore self-love?
Not only has positive psychology laid out a number of ways for us to practice self-love, but cultures all over the world have emphasized an active engagement with self-love! Allow yourself a quiet moment to reflect and meditate on your strengths and things that you love and admire about yourself! Find out exactly why you are so awesome, and turn to these strengths when navigating the journey of life. Create a routine for yourself that honors what your mind, body and spirit need! What does your nutrition, sleep quality, and movement routine look like? Are you loving yourself in the way you spend your time? Carve out self-care rituals that nurture your being and build a relationship with yourself! Work on not comparing yourself to others, consciously redirecting your thoughts and embracing the fact that humans are as diverse and unique as snowflakes! Express self-love by being compassionate towards the self and embracing everything about YOU in this moment. Fear is only useful if you are trying to survive in the wilderness and have to run really fast from a tiger. It serves no purpose in your self-love journey! Sit somewhere quiet, and visualize letting go of fear like balloons in the sky.

DIVE INTO FLOWAccessing your flow state is to become one with everything. Adjusting your life to a flow frequency requires goal clarity and the active practice of surrendering to the moment. We put our life in a state of flow when we can identify and embrace what is in our control and let go of what is out of our control with ease. This directs our energy and brain power towards making the changes we need to obtain what we seek. Surrendering to flow brings rich meaning and fulfillment to life because we are not distracted by the mundane. Flow state is Identifying the self as a part of something much larger than the inauthentic and the mundane. Less annoyed by boredom, less overwhelmed by daily obstacles, less held back by fear. It is an active process of self-awareness and making choices towards a meaningful and successful existence. Flow theory became of interest to positive psychology researchers studying the creative process during the 60's. Scientifically, it is called transient hypofrontality and is a state of consciousness that allows the pre-frontal cortex of our brain to take a break. This frees us up from self-consciousness and self-talk and welcomes us into a more relaxed, creative and effective state. How to practice flowAll efforts of a human being are to attain effortlessness in the future. Accessing flow allows you to obtain effortlessness right now because in this state, your brain processes information without the obstacles of self-consciousness. You are less aware of the self and more aware of the moment, you are in an effortless state of consciousness.
You can find flow in the activities that truly interest you, which is why artists are able to enter flow so easily while they practice their art. Yoga, meditation, running, and swimming are all examples of activities that may put a person into a flow state of consciousness. Once you become familiar with what puts you into a flow state, you can integrate more of these moments into your life! When you become familiar with how to access it, you will be able to access it at any moment. Become aware of your goals in life and the flow you want your life to be a part of. You can navigate any decision by asking yourself, will this feed the flow I desire for my life? You can choose to respond instead of react. You gain access to your full potential and to a fulfilling existence by becoming one with flow and something larger than the self. |
